Fillings and finishes
In the following we would like to draw our dear customers' attention to the fundamental differences in the fillings and designs of our individual products in order to make their purchasing decision easier.
The difference between the design of a bench cushion and a lounge cushion:
The basic difference between the 2 versions can be clearly seen in the image above, the bench cushion/seat cushion shown in the image on the left has a seam in the center line of the cushion when viewed from the side, the cushion from the lounge cushion as shown in the image on the right has seams on all edges (bridge). For bench cushions/seat cushions, the thickness chosen by the customer is measured in the center of the cushion. Because the filling material is compressed along the perimeter of the pillow at the seam line, the thickness of the pillow along the seams may be less than specified. With the lounge cushions, the thickness selected by the customer is constant over the entire cross-section of the cushion.
The fillings of our bench cushions in the case of 5 cm and 8 cm thickness:
The picture above shows the filling of our bench cushions, back cushions, seat cushions, beer bench cushions, lounger cushions and porch swing cushions for cushion thicknesses of 5 cm and 8 cm. The thickness chosen by the customer is measured in the center of the pillow. Because the filling material is compressed along the perimeter of the pillow at the seam line, the thickness of the pillow along the seams may be less than specified.
With a thickness of 5 cm, the filling is:
- 4 cm thick polyurethane foam, density 18 kg/m3, hardness 30;
The foam is covered with a heat-set polyester/fleece cover with a density of 150 g/m2 for a more comfortable feel.
With a thickness of 8 cm, the filling is:
- 4 cm thick polyurethane foam, density 18 kg/m3, hardness 30;
The foam is covered with a heat-set polyester/fleece cover with a density of 275 g/m2 for a more comfortable feel.
The fillings of our lounge cushions in the case of 8 cm, 10 cm and 15 cm thickness:
As can be clearly seen in the picture above, with the lounge cushions, the thickness chosen by the customer is constant over the entire cross-section of the cushion. The shape of the pillow is actually a rectangle with stitching on all edges.
With a thickness of 8 cm, the filling is:
- 8 cm thick polyurethane foam, density 18 kg/m3 for the backrest, hardness 30, density 25 kg/m3 for the seat, hardness 38;
The foam is covered with a heat-set polyester/fleece cover with a density of 150 g/m2 for a more comfortable feel.
With a thickness of 10 cm, the filling is:
- 10 cm thick polyurethane foam, density 18 kg/m3 for the backrest, hardness 30, density 25 kg/m3 for the seat, hardness 38;
The foam is covered with a heat-set polyester/fleece cover with a density of 150 g/m2 for a more comfortable feel.
With a thickness of 15 cm, the filling is:
- 15 cm thick polyurethane foam, density 18 kg/m3 for the backrest, hardness 30, density 25 kg/m3 for the seat, hardness 38;
The foam is covered with a heat-set polyester/fleece cover with a density of 150 g/m2 for a more comfortable feel.
The fillings of our trapezoidal and round cushions in the case of 5 cm and 8 cm thickness:
In the picture above you can see that the filling of our trapezoidal or round cushions is identical to the filling of the lounge variant, however the available thicknesses for these types are only 5 cm and 8 cm and only the seat part is available in the web shop.
